Fringe Theatre Festival Presents: No Rest For The Wicked.

I used to produce and direct radio plays for the stage, which may sound sort of odd and incompatible because it was sort of odd and incompatible. Producing a great radio play is a pretty boring thing to watch. But tailoring your production for the stage requires a balancing act that could completely overwhelm any link to the Golden Age Of Radio.

I can only imagine how difficult it would be to incorporate zombies into the show… especially considering the modern zombie didn’t really appear in popular culture until 1968. But that’s exactly what one small production in Saskatoon has done for this year’s Fringe Theatre Festival!

From the terrifying mind of Doctor Frightful comes a glimpse into a world where no one is safe from the infected stalking the streets. This live on stage black comedy radio drama will have you laughing and crying. Come out for a unique theatrical experience you won’t want to miss.

According to director Grahame Kent, No Rest For The Wicked is “like a play within a play within a play.” But if that sounds confusing, just think of it as a play about a radio show… with zombies, of course! The production premiers tonight at 4pm and runs throughout the week. So stop by the official website of the Fringe Theater Festival for showtimes and info!
