It wouldn’t surprise any of you to know that i enjoy a drink or two while writing these blog posts, right? My poison of choice would be a nice, hoppy beer… but i’m not opposed to a tasty red wine occasionally. Over the years i’ve heard that there are at least two confirmed zombie-themed libations out there. However, in all the time i’ve spent shambling through liquor aisles, such beverages have eluded me.
Return Of The Living Red – This was a complex fine wine with no listed age; a mysterious and intriguing wine. To compliment the nature of this product, Mash developed a concept to create a small pack containing missing and/or suppressed crime files implying the existence of the living dead in and around the vineyards.
Zombie Dust – 6.4% ABV 60 IBUs. This intensely hopped and gushing undead pale ale will be one’s only respite after the zombie apocalypse. Created with our marvelous friends in the comic industry. Art by Tim Seeley
The website of Redhead’s Studio, the makers of Return Of The Living Red, apparently points to Laithwaite’s Wine now. And Three Floyds Brewing, while famous among the microbrew and artisan beer crowd, rarely manages to send a six pack my direction.
These are my White Whales, people. Or, perhaps more appropriately, the unreachable gold reward nailed to the mast. Now, i’m not saying that you should mail me a couple bottles should you ever come across Return Of The Living Red or Zombie Dust, because i believe mailing alcohol across state lines is illegal… but you should totally mail me a couple bottles if you ever come across either!
