Last week we directed ya’ll to Kickstarter, a website that has helped countless artists successfully fund their zombie-themed projects. This week we’d like you to check out Indiegogo, where another ambitious zombie start-up idea is in danger of not reaching its goal.
Z World Detroit will be a unique and spectacular zombie themed experience park that will transform a virtually neglected section of Detroit, Michigan. Participants will be chased by a growing zombie horde through abandoned factories, stores and homes across hundreds of derelict urban acres.
The city of Detroit is considering literally abandoning sections of the city. While the economic and social benefits of this action can be debated. We think the situation demands more creativity.
It sounds like an amazing idea, i mean… who doesn’t want a gigantic zombie-themed amusement park? But i see two problems. First, the concept art appears to be drawn with crayons by a child. And second, this is Detroit we’re talking about. The automotive industry and other local businesses didn’t just leave the state because they were tired of the scenery. So neither prospect really engenders the confidence of potential investors… especially when you’re looking for 145K!
Z World Detroit is a great concept with a lot of hurdles to overcome, the first of which is funding. So we encourage you to check out their official website at Indiegogo for more information including funding opportunities and the proposal video seen above. Take a look and see if you’d like to contribute to the project; they’ve only got until August 10th to reach their goal.
