One year a friend of mine decided to celebrate his birthday at the firing range. Apparently he just assumed they’d toss him a gun and off he’d go. Instead, they required him to demonstrate his safety and proficiency using a firearm. But when the doofus tried to load the clip upside down they quickly threw him outta’ the place… and rightfully so!
Firearm safety is important, kids. Guns aren’t toys, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with ’em. That’s why events like Pandemic 2012 are so important! Not only can you enjoy an entire weekend of zombie-themed competitive shooting events, but you can do so in a completely safe and controlled environment.
Though this event has a competitive element to it, it is about having fun with firearms and doing something you rarely get the chance to do…Slay Zombies! Recreational and casual shooting enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. There will be a staff member (Zombie Wrangler) assigned to your group to help you all weekend.
Pandemic 2012 takes place June 30th and July 1st at the Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Nebraska. Registration is limited to the first 350 entries, and more information can be found at the official website.
Making it through Left 4 Dead without startling a witch is one thing; but learning the safe and proper way to handle actual firearms in a community of like-minded zombie slayers… well, that’s an experience you aren’t gonna’ find anywhere else!
