To celebrate the 100th issue of The Walking Dead, Hyundai has teamed up with Robert Kirkman to create the ultimate “zombie survival machine!” Although apparently it’s just an Elantra Coupe. Granted, there are a few modifications like a cowcatcher on the front and some, uh… extra spotlights or something. I don’t know. But Kirkman attempts to explain it himself in this promotional video featured on the official Hyundai YouTube channel.
Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, describes his vision for this zombie-proof Hyundai Elantra Coupe. Built to save you from the clutches of the undead, this custom Elantra will be on display at the Future US Comic-Con booth.
I have to admit, at first i was pretty cynical about this whole thing. I thought maybe Kirkman was just using The Walking Dead to pimp some cheezy, foreign sports coupe. But when i heard him exclaim “I think every character in the book would love to drive a Hyundai Elantra!” I knew that he really meant it in his heart.
Anyway, there’s more info at the official website including photos and a chance to win a Hyundai Elantra GT. But if you want to see the actual “zombie survival machine” itself, you’ll have to stop by the Future US Comic-Con booth next month in San Diego!
