I’ve been threatening to create a brand new category dedicated to all of the official government agencies that use zombies in their public service announcements. It’s a trend that’s both amusing and depressing at the same time. Amusing because… well, it’s zombies! But depressing because we’re $15.7 trillion dollars in debt, and yet somehow there’s still money in the budget for silly public service announcements like these.
However this time, i can sit back and laugh because it’s Canada’s money on the line!
The threat of zombie attack is a popular phenomenon around the globe and with it comes the message to “be prepared”. Earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, landslides, avalanches, interface fires, severe storms and hazardous material spills are some of the dangers that could threaten lives and cause extensive damage in British Columbia. And while the chance of zombies a-knockin’ on your door is pretty slim, we do believe that if you’re ready for zombies, you’re ready for any disaster.
Emergency Info BC launched a week-long effort to prepare its residents for the next time the Canucks lose the Stanley Cup… er, i mean they’re preparing them for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Anyway, you can check out zombie preparedness tips, essays and photos at the official website. Or swing by the YouTube channel for even more videos to see how America’s hat spends their tax dollars!
