Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Game Disc!

I’m not sure how this will work exactly, but Rockstar has announced that the upcoming Undead Nightmare DLC will be available as a stand-alone game!

The upcoming disc will also include nearly all of the previous downloadable content such as the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes!

And somehow all of this will be playable without the original game? The official website has the announcement, details about the upcoming DLC and some pricing info:

The all new single-player narrative features new challenges, quests, and ambient events, including Missing Persons, where the player must find a missing survivor lost amongst the throngs of undead. This new release also brings new content to Multiplayer, with Undead Overrun, a brand new multiplayer survival mode where waves of infected enemies attack and players must work together to stay alive against increasingly difficult odds.

The Undead Nightmare Pack will be available for download from Xbox LIVE (800 Microsoft Points) and PlayStation Network ($9.99) and requires a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play. Also coming soon, Undead Nightmare, a single, stand-alone disc that bundles together for the first time ever, the Undead Nightmare Pack, the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released to date. Undead Nightmare will be available at retail stores everywhere for $29.99 and does not require a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play.

If you haven’t bought any of the previous DLC, this is really an amazing deal. I mean… the fact that you can play it individually sans Red Dead Redemption, and that it’s available as a physical game disc are all points in it’s favor. I can’t wait to ride through the Old West killing some zombies!
